As usual, it's been a while! A lot has been happening with the house, though. We've got all the plumbing in, and the electrician should be done re-wiring the house this week. That's huge! I finally feel good about the house when I walk around in it, instead of depressed. For a while, it just felt like we were tearing everything down and making things worse, but now stuff is going in and it's fun. We have a tub and a shower, too, we just can't use them yet.
It was a real treat to have two former owners of the house, Joyce and Jane, stop by to share with us some memories of the house and how it used to look. No word yet on the mystery door, or its original purpose, but it's always good to get confirmation that the house has been well-loved for so long. Joyce posted about it on her blog, here, and included some before and after pictures.
I just hope the experience wasn't too depressing or traumatic for them ...
