Spring Into Structural Integrity

I know, I know. I should be posting more than once a month. I don't even have an excuse this time. The weather has been nice and lots of things have been happening with the house!

Of course I just want to wait until things are dramatically different/finished so that I can show off the house and have everyone over for margaritas. But we're a long way from Margaritaville, so here's the progress so far:

Work? I don't think so.

We widened the entrance into the kitchen! If you'd been in the house before, and were there again now, you'd notice the difference. Spacious!

Josh framed the closets. The rooms are starting to look more like rooms now.

We also have cabinets, but those won't be assembled until I spend my getaway weekend with an allen wrench. Jeff and I picked out a tub and a shower. The shower is downstairs, practically ready to use! No, do not use the shower. We don't have plumbing yet.

This weekend, Josh put a new beam in our house! I'm glad the house won't fall down on top of me now.

Perhaps most critically and noticeably, the foundation is finished! Jeff, Josh, and my dad did a great job digging around the house, and I'm happy that the house won't fall into the ground once it is finished falling on top of me now. Stability from top to bottom! Jeff put up skirting around the perimeter of the house, and I removed most of the "belly band," which is such a gross name for anything that I feel embarrassed saying it.
